There are seven national railway stations in central Paris, all connected by the Metro. Of these, four stations serve TGV high-speed trains. Additionally, there are three national railway stations located in the suburbs, all of which are dedicated TGV stations. Among them, Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Station is one of the busiest. It is recommended for travelers heading from the airport to other cities in France. This page also includes information about international trains.

Gare du Nord

It is the busiest station in Paris. International high-speed trains to the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany arrive and depart here, and the RER line to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport also runs through this station, making it crowded throughout the day.

High-speed trains primarily serving eastern France and Germany arrive and depart here. The station was renovated alongside the opening of a new high-speed line to eastern France. The TGV and ICE trains departing from this station reach a top speed of 320 km/h, the fastest in the world.

Gare Montparnasse

It is the only TGV station in Paris without international train services, but it is busy with tourists heading to attractions and commuters alike. Intercity (IC) and regional (TER) trains to southeastern Paris depart and arrive here. Although the station is the smallest in size, it handles many trains and does not feel deserted. Located near Gare de Lyon, you can see TGV trains bound for Lyon from the platform ends. The metro station is a bit of a walk away, but plenty of signs are posted to guide you without issue.

This station is located adjacent to Terminal 2 of Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. This station is located adjacent to Disneyland Paris. It is situated about 20 km southeast of Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and is served by TGV trains connecting southeastern cities like Marseille and Nice with northeastern cities like Lille and Brussels in Belgium. To access this station from central Paris, take the RER.
